Bicentenario Argentino Celebration
For Latin America 2010 means the beginning of several National Celebrations. Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico celebrates this year, their 200 Years of Independency from Spanish Regime and every town, city, province and country is encouraged to show something of their own to make the anniversary wider and transnational.
Pinamar, a beautifull turistic city at Costa Atlántica Argentina, was choosen to be the first argentine city to welcome the Bicentenario Concerts. For this event the government of Provincia de Buenos Aires asked for an stage open air.
On this mood the city have offered an interesting show, a mix between clasical Music, Opera Singers, Argentine Folcklore and Latin American Traditions. The main idea was to show the convergence of cultures from which our national identity has been created.
Dario Volonté ( Argentine Tenor), Luis Gaeta ( Argentine Baritone) and Vera Circovik ( French Mezzosoprano) delighted the people with the most popular Opera’s hits. Verdi’s Opera took a central place, with different arias of his most wellknown operas as La Traviata and Rigoletto. Rossini’s Barbiero sung by Luis Gaeta ( who used this Mobile phone to make an acting) was one of the highlights of the night. Vera Circovik, in her own Language, sang arias of Bizet’s Opera “Carmen”.
The end of the night was planned for Puccini’s Nessum Dorma by Dario Volonté, but the enthusiastic public asked for more and to say goodbye the three singers, conducted by Musical Director Luis Gorelik sang “Brindisi” of La Traviata and tha italian canzonetta “OH SOLE MIO”.
Pinamar’s unique atmosphere, plenty of trees, green, forest and nature made me think of Berliner Waldbühne. I must say I would love to have one of this concerts, once a mounth in this part of the Country.
